Employing high-speed technology for storage networking, trunking between the SAN facing ports and external HP StorageWorks B-series switches provides a higher bandwidth solution. External facing ports auto-sense lower bandwidth components for flexibility and investment protection. Previously, deployments using Fiber Channel-based high-speed storage networks connected servers to the network through ports on stand-alone switches external to the BladeSystem. Now IT managers have the ability to consolidate multiple HP servers, Fiber Channel switches, and Ethernet switches into a single platform for connectivity to the networked infrastructure at a lower cost than ever before.
