The DES-3216 switch includes many features to improve network performance. The filtering/forwarding rate is 100% line speed per port in half-duplex mode. It also features autopolarity detection for correction of incorrect polarity on the receive pair. It is IEEE 802.1d Spanning Tree Protocol compliant and has an 8MB packet buffer. The DES-3216 supports broadcast storm rate filtering and static filtering (based on MAC addresses). The built-in SNMP management allows the network administrator to easily manage and monitor network traffic. It also features built-in snooping and monitoring functions for flexible RMON implementation. The DES-3216 is Flash PROM upgradeable via BOOTP/TFTP and supports VLAN (Layer 2) capabilities.
