Farallon Starlet Fast ... network, the Starlet Switches can segment a network into more efficient workgroups, and provide pre-press graphics, publishing and new media clients the high-performance capability to handle extremely large data file transfers. Installing a Farallon Starlet Switch does not require any major wiring changes or additional costs at the desktop computers. They simply work with the network hubs and cards that already exist and support all standard Ethernet protocols including TCP/IP, AppleTalk and IPX.

Designed for larger, mixed 10Base-T and 100Base-TX networks, these rack-mountable Fast Starlet Switches 10/100 are ideal for maximizing the performance of both 10Mb and 100Mb Ethernet workgroups. This flexible switching solution can be used to provide high-performance, dedicated connections to every user while allowing for maximum design efficiency with the ability to use 100Mb Fast Ethernet only where required. Any segment of the network can be upgraded from 10Mb Ethernet to 100Mb Fast Ethernet as necessary.
