The Edge Switch 2/12 is based on the award winning Edge Switch 2/24 design. It leverages the same internal components, providing an unprecedented level of integration, which reduces component count resulting in high reliability in the switch. The Edge Switch 2/12 supports 4, 8, or 12 ports through the FlexPort option. All ports are auto sensing 1 or 2 GB and can be configured to operate as F, FL or E ports.

FlexPort technology enables customers to implement connectivity on demand, capability not available until now in other switch products. End-users can start with a partially populated switch (4-ports) and purchase additional connectivity when needed in 4-port increments up to a total of 12-ports.

This switch provides entry-level fiber channel capabilities for customers requiring basic FC connectivity in beginning SAN installations or at the edge of established environments.
