Micronet Etherfast SP616EA ... delivers dedicated 10/100Mbps links to each attached LAN segment (independent collision domain) or attached PCs - all with conventional cabling and adapters. It completely eliminates the bottlenecks of shared 10Mbps Ethernet networks by providing non-blocking bandwidth. It makes the switch ideal for increasing the throughput of interconnected Ethernet hubs or server farms.

Fully complies with IEEE802.3u, 100BASE-TX, and IEEE802.3, 10BASE-T standards. SP616EA has the ability to filter local traffic, detects collision and error on each packet and thus maximizing network performance.

The 10/100BASE-TX ports on the SP616EA features built-in "N-Way Auto-Negotiation" function. With Auto-Negotiation function, the optimum connection mode (Full-Duplex or Half-Duplex) will be selected, and also the optimum connection speed (100Mbps or 10Mbps) will be automatically determined.

Micronet SP616EA provides a brand new function for uplink. The Auto Uplink (Auto MDI/MDI-X) function is designed on all Switching ports of SP616EA. With Auto Uplink, user can connect to PC and cascade SP616EA to another switch/hub by using either straight-through or crossover cable. SP616EA will automatically detect the type of cable and link the connection.
