Advantages: Silent, cost effective and a nice size
Disadvantages: Low functionality
I have been using this switch now for about a year for my home setup. This switch is ideal if you have limited ports available or network connections as you can simply plug one network connection into it and it will "switch" this to 7 others. Meaning that from one wall connection you can run up to 7 pieces of equipment.
Although this is a 8 port switch you will require one port for your main network connection and therefore this is not a useable port.
The switch itsself is nice and small and therefore will not take up a great amount of space. It can run speeds up to 100Mbps and as low as 10Mbps. There are the usual network lights that show up and flash to show you having connectivity which helps with troubleshooting in the event of any problems as you can see weather the switch is recieving a connection.
The switch runs silently unlike other i have experiences in the past and can be picked up for around the £30 mark meaning that this is a great piece of kit for the price.
If you are struggling for network connections and want some to simply create more ports this kit is ideal and wont break the bank. I have had this running 24 hours a day for over a year and have not had any problems at all.
Summary: Ideal for a small home or office set up to extend your network.
