SMC EZ Switch SMC6425LW/TF ... 10BASE-T ports for connection to Ethernet hubs, servers and workstations; two removable Fast Ethernet modules with a choice of either 100BASE-TX or 100BASE-FX ports, and; an AUI port for alternate media connections via transceiver. All ports support full-duplex operation, so you can effectively double the bandwidth of server and switch connections. The 100BASE-TX ports also support Auto-Negotiation, so the optimum operating mode (half or full duplex and 10 or 100 Mbps) is selected automatically. Though essentially plug and play devices, both EZ Switch LW models are easily configurable via the front-panel Configure button and Console Interface. Port status (enabled or disabled), as well as operating and switching modes can be set for every port. These switches support both "store-and-forward" and "cut-through" modes, so you can tailor the switching strategy of the EZ Switch LW to suit the special needs of your network. In addition, the EZ Switch LW switches give you the tools to conveniently monitor LAN activity. They are equipped with a complete array of LEDs for checking collisions, operating mode and link activity. And, the "EZ Eye View" LED display can provide a graphic illustration of bandwidth utilization for any port.
