The SMC6724L3 also comes fully loaded with advanced performance-enhancing features: GMRP and IGMP maintain available bandwidth by limiting multicast packet transmissions to subscribers only. DVMRP multicast routing can significantly conserve bandwidth by minimizing packet replication across the network. QoS priority queueing ensures a minimum delay for realtime multimedia data across the network, while port-based and tagged VLANs with support for GVRP are also included to provide traffic security and efficient use of network bandwidth.
