Advantages: Simple to set up and cheap.

I bought this USB port purely to use with the instruments to play Rock Band on the wii. I have no other use for it whatsoever so this review may not as in-depth and constructive as you may like. But I'll do my best.

As ever so subtly hinted at in the title, this USB hub has ports for four additional USB devices. If your laptop or computer has insufficient USB ports for you to upload your camera pictures/update your ipod/access information on your memory stick, you can plug them into this. I image that one day I might need this but the laptop I currently use has three ports and I never need to use more than two at a time.

The Rock Band instruments that are plugged into this is the Microphone and the Drums. The wii only has two usb inputs and Rock Band requires the use of three. I've never encountered any problems running these through the technika usb hub.

With my limited knowledge I understand that the usb hub gets its power from the computer that it is plugged into. If the usb hub needs more power you can use a power lead (which is not provided) to give it a bit more. I would assume you would only need to do this if trying to use three or four inputs at a time. I've certainly never needed to do this.

I picked this hub up from Tesco for £4.97 in very late December 2008. I've just checked their site and it is still the same price. For under five quid, this is an absolute steal!
