Reviews on "Ice Cream Maker"

Rosie78 Magimix Le Glacier 1.1L: ... bought this ice cream maker for £35. I m pretty happy with it, although I ve had a couple of problems. It comes in two parts, a bowl that needs to go in the freezer before you use it, preferably overnight, and a top bit that comprises the motor and paddle for mixing the ice cream. Firstly, it s quite noisy. We have an open kitchen/dining room, and I d imagined having this on to make dessert at the end of a dinner ...

sjo1jcl Magimix Le Glacier
... ve had my Magimix Le Glacier for about 5 years now (originally a gift), and use it about once a month. I ve got mixed feelings about it. The instruction manual which comes with the machine is appalling (I actually wrote an entire essay on it for my Technical Writing module at uni!) and clearly hasn t been translated particularly effectively, so there are lots of unclear messages. A few good recipes at the back, however in some instances, they ve misprinted quantities - could be disastrous! Hopefully by now they will have reviewed this document! Nevertheless, in terms of functionality, this is a sound piece of kit. It s not fancy, and it does what it says on the tin - ...

Vixstar Philips Delizia Ice Cream Maker
... ice cream is an affordable luxury and one I have become accustomed to. When I moved house I had the nasty realisation that my new freezer, which was simply the top shelf in my fridge due to lack of space in my kitchen, would not accomodate the freezable bowl of my much loved ice cream maker. Cue a lot of searching to find a more compact but automatic solution (freezing the ice cream in a plastic tub, stirring hourly and hoping didn t appeal). Eventually I found the Phillips Delizia, reasonably priced, a recognised brand and best of all rather than freeze the whole 1 litre bowl I only had to freeze the 5cm/2in tall internal disc! To explain the Delizia is not an i...

Sir+Brian Delonghi Simac GC5000
... bought our Simac on eBay and recognised that it might be a risk. However it was significantly cheaper than Gaggia and Magimix models and seemed to do the same thing. We had had a freeze-the-bowl machine before and really wanted the feature on instant ice cream. The Simac is a solid, professional feeling machine. Controls are simple. It freezes quickly and produces superb ice cream in 20 - 30 mins (based on content). Nothing it cannot do vs much more expensive models. We now learn it is the No 1 machine in Italy and Which UK Best Buy. Now we just bung all sorts of things in, yoghurt, fresh-tinned-frozen fruit, custard&cream, etc etc. The secret is to make su...
