Advantages: Cooling system, cheap, proffesional, non-stop ice cream making
Disadvantages: Quite difficult to assemble at first
I first came across this ice cream maker on an advert on dooyoo while i was writing a review for my old one, Phillips Delizia. It's just luck really, because i was looking for an ice cream maker where you don't have to wait for a bowl to freeze for 12 hours as my ice cream became more demanded and i really wanted to be able to make more batches during the day. I really owe dooyoo one, because it's such a fantastic machine.
It has a built-in cooling system, which is really convenient as you can make ice cream whenever you want as it instantly starts to cool down once you switch it on. For an ice cream maker with the ability to do this, it would be no less than £200. But when i first saw this machine on the M&S website after clicking the advert, i was so surprised that it was only a mere £99. I had to buy it after I read about it's features and the fact it was able to cool your ice cream in under 40 minutes and you could make ice cream non-stop all day. So the next day, i went to an M&S store where i knew they sold household products and bought it then and there. You can buy it online but i was too impatient to wait for the delivery! I knew when i first saw this ice cream maker it would be a good investment. It was £96 due to the change in VAT. What a professional machine for a good value!
My experience with this ice cream maker has been nothing but pleasurable. The only thing i could say is that it's quite hard to assemble once i first started to using it, but it's easy to get used to and it's no problem at all now. Also, it is quite heavy so you might have some difficulty moving it around. None of the parts are dishwasher safe, but since their are only 3 parts you need to intensively clean, it shouldn't be an issue. The main machine and motor cannot be soaked in water and if you wish to clean it, you need to use a damp cloth to wipe as it's dangerous since electricity is used to power it. It comes with a measuring cup (1 cup) and an ice cream scooper which i didn't expect at all and I think they're quite helpful to help measure things when making the ice cream. On the top of the ice cream maker is a digital display and buttons to set the time and to switch it on and off. What i find that really makes this ice cream maker convenient as well is that once it's finished cooling (after you've set the time) it beeps to signal when it's done so if you're in another room, you don't have to estimate when it's done, all you have to do is sit and wait for the beeper to go off! Also what i find really professional is the fact that if it's finished cooling and you haven't come to check it, and it starts to melt, it simultaneously switches back on if it senses the temperature is too high and gives you maximal results. The maximum bowl capacity is 1.5 litres which is reasonable and can produce quite a large quantity of ice cream. The ice cream maker comes with a manual which can provide you with additional information. Don't worry about being irritated by any noise as there is minimal sound so it won't be a problem at all, in my eyes.
Overall, this is one of the best ice cream makers I have seen on the market today because of it's brilliant features, qualities and how professional it works for such a minimal price. For people looking for an ice cream maker which has its own cooling system, this is THE one to buy.
If you're interested in buying it, go on the M&S website here:
and order it online, or you can buy in an M&S store where you're sure they sell household products.
Summary: The best ice cream machine i've come across!
