“ Brand: Rachel Allen „
Rachel Allen is a well-known Irish chef. You may recognise her from one of her many television shows, they are mostly named something along the lines of Rachel's Favourite Food or Rachel's Favourite Food at Home etc. She has also released a variety of cookbooks covering a lot of different meal types and foods. I am a fan of cookery programmes, even though I rarely ever make anything that I have seen on one, and I have always enjoyed Rachel Allen's approach to food and the ingredients she uses. I was looking on amazon.co.uk one day and I saw that Rachel also has a range of kitchen apparel available which I thought was very exciting as I love kitchen gadgets. The whole range is quite simple and easy to use yet it looks attractive and isn't too pricey.
I bought this machine earlier this year in the hope of creating some of my own lovely ice-creams. I had never owned or used an ice-cream maker before so I decided to buy this one as it looked easy to use and it didn't require too much expertise. I liked the design of this ice-cream maker too, it is quite small and white, with a transparent lid so that you can see your ice-cream being made. There is a lovely purple flower design on the side of the maker too which gives it a nice finish.
The items included in the box are:
* the ice-cream maker itself.
* a quick freeze bowl.
* jelly moulds.
* Rachel Allen's recipe booklet.
* a transparent lid.
* instructions on how to use.
The maker itself is quite basic and is ideal for making up to 2.4 pints of ice-cream. It is not difficult to use at all and the quick-freeze bowl means that the ice-cream can be ready in about 40 minutes. This ice-cream maker is ideal for experimenting with and trying out new flavours. It makes a reasonable amount of ice-cream and certainly enough for a few people to enjoy. It is really easy to clean and keep in a good condition.
The recipe book that it comes with is really useful and is great to use as inspiration. There are some delicious recipes in there which I have tried and will definitely be making again. I am a big fan of banana ice-cream and so I like to make that and take inspiration from other flavours by for example, adding fudge squares and white chocolate chips.
Overall I have been really impressed with the ice-cream that I have made in this maker. I was surprised how easy it is to make. The ingredients can get a bit pricey depending on what flavour you are making but it does possibly work out cheaper than buying tubs at the supermarket or from an ice-cream shop.
I paid £21.99 for this ice-cream maker and I bought it from amazon.co.uk. The RRP is £39.99.
I am really glad that I bought this ice-cream maker and am impressed with how it works. As it is quite small it is easy to store away and the quick freeze tub makes it easy to keep clean. I love the transparent lid and how you can see the ice-cream forming. I think that 40 minutes is a reasonable time to wait for some ice-cream and I cannot wait to start experimenting with some more creations and recipes this summer. I love Cornish ice-cream so I am looking forward to developing my own version soon. I would recommend this ice-cream maker to anyone who wants a fun, quick and easy way of making ice-cream. It is a really fun activity to do and you can use choose exactly what goes into your ice-cream so that it suits you perfectly. Ideal for summer!
