Advantages: Endless amount of tools, features, filters, shapes

Disadvantages: Takes up alot of ram & cost

Adobe Photoshop CS.
I have used this software for a few years now dating back to version 5/6, CS is the 8 i think and it has come along way with all areas.

Shapes:
I use alot of the shape tools for simple buttons for the web and maybe cool effects in backgrounds, they have been easy to get more of them as you only get 10-25 as standard.

Tools:
I think the number of tools have increased since 2003 as you are able to get the effects with the use of only one tool in some areas.

Filters:
Adobe has packed in so many filters into this software that it is hard to choose which one gives the best effects.

Amount of Ram needed:
I have 2 computers one PC and a Mac both with over 1GB of ram and some times when doing A2 prints it can make your computer slow which can be stressful. I have used it on a computer that only have 512 and i must say it took so long to get a 600MB file to load up.

Cost:
Adobe has prices this software so high that many small companies / freelancers are unable to afford it, but for this sort of software i would save as much as you can and try and work something out to get it.

I would recommend this software to anyone that is in web development / printing / photography / 3d design / designers / fashion.. and maybe some others.

I would also suggest that if you are unsure about the software try the 30 day trail version from the adobe website and then look on here to see where the best prices are at.
