Good software and anyone can have fun with this program.

Everyone like's to mess around with paint and draw random cool things. Paint make's this easy and fun and almost any one can use this simple program. It has enough features to make a good painting but great photo editors designing proper art would be better off with Photoshop.

You get a paintbrush and a variety of colors to use. You hold it in to draw and move the mouse around, the paint will follow. You get a fill tool that give's you the option to pick a color and fill a particular area with the selected color. You get an eraser that rubs out anything that you don't want there. You can also choose the size of your brush and pencil. Pencil is just a small line that has a grey color. There are different types of brushes to use too and there is spray paint! You get shapes to mess around with including circles, triangles and squares. You can also insert text wherever you want and customize that. This can be used for making children's stories if you are really good with the program. Simply draw the picture then insert the paragraphs of text below, I have used it for this reason before and it worked! You can resize the page, zoom in on things and generally have fun with this program Anyone can use this program and it is great for kid's due to it's simplicity. This come's with most computers. You can print things and gives you an option to set as desktop background, send as email and more! You also get to choose the file extension when saving the photo/painting. You can copy and paste images into it as well which is a handy feature and people use that feature a lot.

Microsoft Paint is a free painting program that can be used to teach students the basics of painting software. Many sophisticated graphics software applications (such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop) use the same basic principles that can be learned using MS Paint.
Using any painting program involves learning how to use the menu bar and the tool bar. MS Paint also includes a colour palette that allows the user to choose both foreground and background colours with which to work.

MS Paint also includes a great Help system that will have you mastering your virtual brush-strokes in minutes. This compendium of information was produced from screenshots of many of the MS Paint Help Files.

These pages are meant to be a visual catalogue of the MS Paint tools and their functions. While incomplete, it allows you to click on the words and symbols shown on the image at left to find out how to use MS.

Advantages of the program include that Comes MS Paint is pre-installed on every computer that runs the Windows system, its tools enable Basic drawing, shapes, and cropping and it Supports for JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG images. Drawing tools can be accessed from the main toolbar, this includes fill tool, Eraser, eyedropper, magnifier, pencil, paintbrush, spray can, fonts, lines and shapes. The colour palette can also be further edited for custom selection.

The program does however have its disadvantages, which are that it's very basic editing limits its capabilities, the program is only available on windows and it does not support layers. Considering its limits I would not fully recommend this program for anything other than simple designs which is why I would suggest investing in a professional graphic program to produce bitmap/vector imaging if the results you require are of high quality. Nevertheless, MS paint is practically free and the graphics it would produce, though remaining simple would still be attractive and appealing.

A decent, simple, free little application.

MS paint is a superb and early piece of picture manipulation software which comes free with all copies of windows.

Objects can be selected, cropped, cut, pasted, have colours inverted, be flipped at any angle, resized, annotated with text and drawn over with any colour in the exhaustive colour spectrum the software employs, using any brush or line size you'd care to mention. It can save files in bitmap, jpeg and gif format too, and is compatible with all the standard formats you would come to expect, unlike higher quality photoshop icons and file extensions which are usually not particularly compatible with differing software.

Paint gets a lot of bad press because its favoured by children and is often the reason for much sloppy work, but nonetheless, in the right hands it is fine for simple line and cutting picture manipulation and textual annotation, although it does have no effects, filters or proper photoshop capabilities, it has an extremely intuitive and simplistic interface that anybody could work out within seconds. I wholeheartedly recommend Microsoft Paint for those simpler of picture manipulation jobs, as well as construction of simple geometric diagrams and visual aids. but would recommend something like Adobe for proper picture and photographic manipulation, as well as for the actual drawing of detailed items. Microsoft Paint knows what it is, and works very well as a simple tool. Recommended.
