Advantages: Versital, dosn't take alot of computer power.
Disadvantages: Hard to learn, newer photoshops
If you've been using MS paint, Photoshop will blow your mind. And, it's also better then just about any Bitmat editing program on the market.
You do have to ask your self?
What is are you using it for. Photoshop is a good professional program to make bitmaps. It's useful for making posters and digital art. and, has some vector capability.
How ever, if you just need a program to touch up your home photos, or make a logo or two, your paying to much.
It's also a pretty light programs compaired to the newer photoshops. I have a computer with 256 RAM that seems to run it fine.
But it's not perfect.
The interface is a bit hard to learn. I've taken two classes using photoshop, and still haven't learned all it's in and outs. Newer photoshops are much more user friendly.
It comes with a program called "image ready", witch will allow you to make gif animations. It's just about the worse program I've ever used to make gifs.
Photoshop also will crash once in a while.
Remember, there are newer versions of photoshop (CS4 is the newest) to consider when you are buying an image editing program.
Summary: Decent program overall.

- 24/12/08 I think you're gorgetting to say that Adobe products have so many installation incompatibility problems on so many systems, that it sucks, lol. I used CS3 for a while until it just stopped working one day... and I am a comm tech and couldn't figure the problem out and niether can Adobe. |
