When I first started to use Painter in windows 95 an latter in 98 and ME, I could never imagine that I will become so hooked in graphic tools. Computer imaging, photo editing and similar visual art. One of the reasons for this is undisputedly PhotoImpact. I came across PhotoImpact when I was looking for some better version of Painter. Now this was when PhotoImpact had still at single digit for version number. Now that has a two digits and is still on of the best and simple program that you can use for photo editing or simple "computer" painting. And it getting better and better There is a very important fact that I have to emphasize and repeat - simplicity. Program is extremely simple. It has so called "easy palette" function, this is a combination of the most often function in a photo editing or painting work. Editing was never so easy. If you wont to gave someone some tan - just use a tan filter and his skin is browner in a few clicks. Do you want to delete some pimples, use the touch up tool. You wan to delete red eye effect - again a few clicks and it's gone. Make black and white effect, red and blue, purple and gold - every thing you want. Ad frames to pictures, resize, make yourself transparent...
Your work can be saved in any format (from BMP to GIF, even ICO, so you can use your pictures for icons). You can ad animations to your pictures like lightning, snowing and many more. It use is truly divert. If you are keen on trying something more complex you can find tutorials on line and draw your self almost everything you need. I used it for school, college, work, hobbies or plain fun.
