Advantages: Cheapish printer, Attractive, Space saving

Disadvantages: Small Ink cartridges, Expensive ink cartridges

I have a canon 2000 printer which I bought at PC world. The printer is compact and takes up a very small amount of deskspace. It comes in computer beige and has a centrally locatedflap behind which is access to the ink cartridges. The cartridges are black and colour and they travel along the line side by side squirting when required.

I did a few cd covers recently and the ink ran out in no time at all, the small ink containers run out very quickly and replacements are very costly. I do like the look of the printer but the cost of keeping it supplied with ink is too much for anyone who requires almost any type of printing.

The print quality is good and the paper feeds well, its easy to setup and the setupcd instructions are very simple to follow.

I bought this on based on Canons reputation as a good supplier of printers. I had a BJ10EX and a Canon250 in the past and they both were very reliable printers with good quality output. This one made me aware of Canons focus on getting money from Ink cartridge sales. 8 Ink cartridges gets you a new printer with a new ink cartidge installed. It made me think about the factors Ill consider when buying my next printer anyway.

My girlfriends printer is a Hewlett Packard and this had a larger ink cartridge maybe Ill consider one of these. I wont be rushing to Canon thats for sure. In conlusion nice but hidden expenses something no one needs, no one likes I have a dim view of Canon for taking this route.
