Advantages: cheap, printing is reasonable quality

Disadvantages: expensive to replace the cartridges, slow

I have this printer, it is one of the lower end of the range models, it's fairly cheap in price to buy, but it is very basic and although it prints in both black & white & colour, you have to change the cartridge over, depending on what you want. My main gripe about this printer is the price of the ink cartridges. The printer itself may be cheap, but these cartridges certainly are not! The black cartridge costs about £25 to replace and the colour one around £34! This makes it very expensive to run if you want to print a large amount of material. It is only really useful for home printing small amounts unless you don't mind spending a lot of money on replacement cartridges!
One way to cut down the amount of ink that you use for printing is to print in draft format if what you're printing isn't important. For Win 95 users go to File, then Printers, then Properties to set this to draft format, ignore the "fix" if your computer says that it isn't optimal. You can change it back later when you need to print something important.
Over all, I'm happy with this printer, even if it is a little slow, mainly because I don't use it much! If your printer is essential e.g. for a home office or you need to print a lot of material I would definitely choose a faster model and bear in mind how much the replacement cartridges cost before you buy your printer!

I have a HP printer where you have to change the cartridges over also, and I wouldn't recomend this type of printer. If you print a page of black text with just a small amount of colour in in you have to use the colour cartridge. It mixes black from the 3 colours, but this obviouly uses up the colour cartridge very quickly. But HP cartridges are (only!)around £20 each.
