Advantages: Easy to use. Large range of consumables from a number of suppliers

Disadvantages: Large. Heavy. Canon original supplies expensive (but good)

The Canon IX5000 provides wide format (up to A3) colour, photographic printing and is backed up by a wide range of papers, inks, support and consumables from Canon and a variety of 3rd party consumables manufacturers

Having used this printer for around 1.5 years, with various papers, inks, transfers, etc - I am very happy with it. It has performed very reliably, with no clogs, despite a fair bis of use (and abuse)! USB connectivity and excellent Canon drivers, with two-way monitoring. ICC profile support. This is a large printer and I'd suggest not sticking it on your desk, unless you have a large desk! Use a shelf!

Non-Canon supplies do not provide the consistent quality that the original Canon ones do. However, they are significantly cheaper and can provide good draft printing.

A very good option if you print a lot at home, even for display prints (or draft prints before sending for final bureau prints)
