Disadvantages: Not breathtaking quality but it is still pretty good
** Canon S400 Printer **
I bought my Canon S400 Printer least 5 years back and it is still going strong! I have it connected up to my main computer and it happily takes care of all my day to day printing needs.
I mostly use a printer for simple black and white letters. The s400 excels at this. Yes it is a noisy squeaky printer. It was from new.
No the quality isn't up to the super high standards of the latest printers, I meam the S400 is a colour printer but the results aren't what you would call breathtaking. It is exactly what you expect it to be -a really cheap excellent workhorse for simple dayto day printing.
I have another much better and sharper printer for when I'm doing photos or printing data disks etc etc. But as I am sure you know it is very expensive to buy cartridges for the fancy all sdinging all dancing super printers. Even compatible cartridgs can be extortionately priced in some cases.
So why would I even consider using my premium quality printer's expensive ink for printing all my day to day letters and such? I wouldn't. That is what I have my wonderful Canon S400 Printer for.
Do you know a large black cartridge costs less than £5 even in the highstreet shops and supermarkets! Online you can buy them even cheaper.
I print LOTS of letters each week. I get through 1 S400 black cartridge about once every 5 months. The s400 print heads are still as good as they ever were and I save a fortune in printing costs.
I bet Canon rue the day they ever created the S400. It is almost indestructable, it prints for a stupidly long time on 1 cartridge and as long as you don't expect absolute perfection from your print quality you a laughing.
Some people spend a fortune on printers and their cartridges, often to do printing tasks that only required a really basic printer.
The Canon S400 Printer print quality while not being top notch is far from basic. I can only say these three words:
I LOVE IT
I don't think they make them anymore (what's the point all the original one's are probably still working!) but if you're tired of hurling money at your printer - start scouring the newspaper for sale columns and go get yourself one -is all I can suggest.

Summary: My number one printer ever. Nothing can beat it when you are on a budget
