The Epson 580 is a very neat little printer which comes at a very reasonable price.

It comes with paper trays and will give you 1440dpi printing resolution which is excellent for the price. It comes complete with a disc containing all the drivers you need to control your printing. You need a USB cable to connect it up and there wasn't one in the box. I had to make another trip to PC World to get one as they didn't tell me. Check this out at the cash desk or you might get home and find you can't install your printer.

Print speeds are good for normal domestic use and you will get 6 pages per minute of black and white or 3.2 colour. It will work with win95, 98, 2000 or even iMac and G4.

The quality of print is clear and sharp and the ink doesn't smudge when the print comes out of the machine. It's quiet to use and doesn't vibrate much. I haven't had any problem getting it to print on any kind of paper or thin card (not glossy card though as it slips).

There are a couple of things that I didn't like about this printer though. There isn't an on/off switch so it is on when your pc is in use. The USB cable wasn't included and you have to buy it seperately.

Overall this an excellent printer. Its effecient and looks good. It will handle most kinds of paper and its quiet. If you want a good quality, efficient printer at a reasonable price try this one.
