4 years ago I bought an e machine from PC World, included in the package a free printer, they gave me the Epson C40 a small standard 4 colour inkjet printer, one of a series. Mine still works and I use it as backup and less sophisticated printing (I updated to a 3 in 1 Epson CX3200 - the brand impressed me). I’m looking to sell it now I am more confident with the CX3200. ***THE PRODUCT*** According to the label my machine was assembled in China with Japanese components, Epson Stylus is a trade mark of SEIKO EPSON. I have just scrapped a second c40 in less than a week! Both printers were from computer customers of mine one customer used it constantly until a change of cartridge required cleaning then after 2 cleans up came the message "parts inside your printer need serviceing or replacing" No choice here. A check with epson and invoice said "out of guarantee"....actually 20 days past one year. I complained to epson and they kindly had it swopped...excellent. Two days later I picked up another c40 as the customer said "too noisy", "too slow". I replaced both cartridges as they were too low to be of use and luckily ... Read the complete review

I've got to be honest, the reason I bought this printer is because I needed one for when I got my own place, and because it was ridiculously cheap! I went to Uni and decided to quit because I didn't like it there, roundabout the same time the printer I already had (an Epson Stylus 460) decided to quit too. It cost £150 when I originally bought it, lasted about one year then just died on me, and no matter how hard I kicked it it simply wouldn't work.
