Our printer had gone wrong, the costs of repairs was such that it wasn?t worth bothering. The man in the shop suggested we buy an Epson Stylus C60, a colour printer it only costs £55 which I personally thought was terrific value considering the fact that our old printer cost double that.
It looked really good, much better than the Hewlett Packard printer that I had. With a really sleek, trendy design it was perfect for the whole family to use. It looked actually really nice when put on my computer desk. Ok, looks aren?t everything as we no doubt all know but let?s just say that it passed on that account anyway.

Installing the printer was really easy?..even I could do it. Simply connect the appropriate leads to the back of your computer tower, the instructions on the booklets are really useful and helpful if you have trouble. Then, simple go to settings and add new software and hopefully it should pick up your new printer. Within five minutes you will have a new printer installed. The wizard is easy to follow and you can uninstall it with ease. If you do have problems you should find enclosed a starter CD which is like a guide to tell you all about the printer.

A standard size Epson printer is 18.6 inches wide by 10.7 inches deep by 5.125 inches high without the paper and output trays extended. The paper tray can hold up to 100 sheets of paper and can be adjusted to accommodate any size paper up to 8.5 by 11 inches. The printer attaches to Windows and Macintosh computers.

To test your printer you can print out a test sheet. You should by this stage be quite impressed by the quality of the printouts, the colour ones in particular are very impressive. You do actually get a cartridge when you buy your printer but after that I am afraid you will have to buy it yourself. This is where costs could add up, if like our household you do use your printer quite a lot, then expect to folk out anything between £28-£32 for your cartridge
s. Another drawback is that you have to buy Epson cartridges, you can?t buy cheap ones so there?s no cheap cartridges available here.

The Epson C60 is great for colour prints, graphics and of course colour photo?s. The print outs are fast and look very good. In the printer you will find that one cartridge holds the colour cartridge and another holds the black. However, if one cartridge runs out you will have to replace it before continuing to print.

For us, the Epson printer is an excellent, efficient no frills printer. It fast printing upto 12 pages black/colour printouts per minutes which is good. It?s ideal for photo printing, if you have a web cam then you will be extremely impressed by the quality of the print outs.

Overall the Epson C60 is stylish and is a perfect printer in my eyes, good quality and easy to install and use. It looks good and would make an ideal gift for Christmas. Available from most computer stores or stores like Argos etc.

You don't have to pay that much for cartridges. Try www.zentrex.com and you can get them for £7 black/£9 colour.

I have an even cheaper epson, its noisy but the plus side is the cartridges are only £14, it wouldnt fancy paying out £28 per time.
