Advantages: Good quality printing
Disadvantages: Not specialist like a laser printer
This is a printer for a family with no real computer needs rather than a printer for a serious computer user, but hell it’s not that bad. I found it the easiest printer I have ever found to install and it comes with a neat little Questions and answer Package, it was quite cheap as well at just under £100. What impresses me the most is that it has a broad range of printing settings from Economy to Photo, and actually I was very impressed with the Photo settings and compares with some of the early Hewlett Packard Printers (which are in my opinion the best around). One problem maybe that the high setting are a bit slow but the lower setting speed through, and this is common with Ink jet printers released at the same time. As it’s been written in earlier opinions the utilities are poor and ink indicators ridiculous. The ink gauge is very rarely correct and sometimes I run out of ink before I should and others I get weeks extra from those cartridges. The heads and alignment needs near constant pampering, having to use the head cleaning far too often (using up that ink as well as my time), however the printer was cheap and the cartridges are fairly cheap too. I reckon this is a good printer for families or people who don’t need to rely on printing.
