There has been a constant battle between Hewlett Packard and Epson over which has the better printer. Well, in my opinion, Epson wins. After personally owning some Hewlett Packard and Canon printers, the quality of the Epson is stunning in comparison.

This printer is just about the best value going for the SOHO user. It offers an unbeatable combination of superior output quality, acceptable speed, and low price.

This seems to be the fastest thing out there for the price. I got a manu rebate and some free software so I was pretty happy with the deal. I could have bought an HP for less - similar quality but much slower print speed. For me the print speed is raelly important especially when printing in color - having to wait minutes for each page is very annoying. This epson is great at cutting the wait. Mine is connected by USB to a Dell Pentium II 500MHz, also will connect by parralel - I had to buy the USB connection cable as an extra. The utilities it comes with are easy to use - especially the cleaning/print check/allignment utilities.

However, the operations are a bit loud and the ink catriges may have to be cleaned a couple times to get real quality COLOR output. However, this is a minor objection with an otherwise fine printer.

I am overall very happy with this printer.
