I bought an Epson 680 inkjet printer recently to replace my Epson 440. I needed something that was quicker, quieter and gave higher quality prints. This printer is brilliant in these respects.

These days you get a lot of printer performance for your money. This cost just £99.99 but has the best specification in it's class:-

Up to 2880 dpi
Up to 8 pages per minute output
Near photo quality output
Parallel port or usb connection

I'm very impressed with the high speed and high quality of output. Up to 2880 dpi can be had when using coated photo paper. The printer is very easy to set up, the drivers and Epson printer monitor software installed first time without any errors. Once out of the box you can be printing in 10 minutes.Plug it in, add the back and colour cartridges, install the software and you're done.

The Epson print monitor software has a number of useful features, you can test / clean nozzles, see how much ink is left in each of the tanks and test/align the heads. The ink tanks have built in sensors to show how much is left in each of the colours. Replacement cartridges aren't too expensive £19 for colour and £22 for black. As this is a new model I haven't seen any replacement cartridges been made by other suppliers but these will come.

Overall a well made printer,offering excellant features at a bargain price.
