Advantages: Very Easy to Install and Use

Disadvantages: Expensive Ink Cartrdiges

I bought this printer after having trouble with printers of other brands. I had a lot of difficulty installing other printers; HP and Lexmark on my computer so i though i would give Epson a try.

Firstly in my opinion this printer is absolutely good value for money. It is safe to use and is ideal in a home where there are kids. The printer allows you to print in both colour and black. However printing rubbish may cost you more than you think because the refill cartridges are very expensive. However you can get cheap unbranded refills. These are value for money.

The printer has electronic chips in each cartridge so when you do use the unbranded cartridges the printer recognises them, however it still lets you print. The printer takes 4 inks, unlike other old printers where they just take a colour and black; this printer requires 4 ink cartridges; 1 x black, 1 x cyan, 1 x magenta, 1 x yellow. Each ink has its own chip.

The printer has amazing quality and is ideal for printing photos. It prints pages to the maximum size of A4. The printer is fantastic and the quality of the prints is fantastic too. You need to see it to believe it!

The printing is also very fast; its compared to home printers. It is not as fast as printers which are used in large organisations and industries. The instruction manual also comes very useful if you have any problems. With the printer there is also a cd-rom which installs software which allows you to get help easily.

The printer itself cost £69 , from Currys. The printer came with 1 set of ink. However when this ran out I purchased the unbranded refill inks which cost me £17.99, and I bought these from www.rubberfrog.com. This pack included: 2 x Black, 1 x Cyan, 1 x Magenta, 1 x Yellow. You can mix and match any 5 inks for £17.99

Summary: Good Printer but Inks are too expensive if you have a low budget!
