Epson Stylus Photo 2000P

Have been using the 2000P since it's release. Have continued to print artwork with this printer without issue.

Two common complaints I've seen are;

HEAD CLOG:
ALL EPSON printers have permanent heads. You must print with these printers each week to keep the ink flowing or pay the consequences. I run a testprint and keep the heads clear.

INK USAGE:
One of the first Epson printers with a "level sensor" built into the cartridge. The way around this is to be intentional in your ink usage. I print drafts with another printer and print strip tests with the 2000p for color correction. Once the color is correct print the "real thing". It cuts way down on ink waste.

Other than known color casting and moires issues, I've run just about everything but burlap through this printer and it still functions properly.

Within the industry this is what the printer was anticipated to be. The Holy Grail. It had been a race to be first with inks using pigments. Those colours which outlast the standard dyes by years. Epson with the ease of there printer's were able to get there after the attempts from HP and the rest. The printer technology heralded a new beginning of printing. Actual inks that were lightfast and waterproof. It was exciting to think off having a longer life picture producer.
