Advantages: Compact, good looking, acceptable photo quality

Disadvantages: Painfully slow. Appalling text quality. Guzzles ink at a prodigious rate, and cartridges are exorbitantly priced.

My Epson Stylus Photo 750 has served me faithfully without any breakdown for about a year now. It doesn't, however, wow me with it's abilities.

The printer is marketed as a photo printer, and it fulfils that role reasonably well. On the high quality settings the photos are pretty good. However, it is only 'good', not great, and it's performance in all other areas is terrible.

It goes at an extremely slow print rate - a maximum of about 2ppm. The text has fuzzy edges and often appears to be slightly less than black. The other graphic uses, like line art and graphs, suffer from similar problems.

The printer is fueled by tiny little ink cartridges that seem to last no more than a month with light home use. They cost ridiculous (£15-20) sums to obtain as well, and as the printer has an integrated 5-colour cartridge when one runs out the other colours must also be thrown out. The printer is also strangely reluctant to relinquish the ink cartriddge until IT thinks it has run out.
