Advantages: Excellent quality, ease of use
Disadvantages: Cost of consumables
What a brilliant marketing exercise! Make an attractively priced colour printer with excellent reproduction and then charge a fortune for ink cartridges!! That's my only gripe and now I've got it off my chest. The print quality is absolutely superb, reproducing photo quality prints at the highest resolution on photo quality paper. I really couldn't tell the difference. For normal use I have it set to normal quality with lower resolution. At this setting it is acceptably fast and produces good quality reproduction. Epson provide a good utility software which enables you to resolve most problems and monitor the status of the ink cartridges. Installation was a snap and I've never had any real problems in over 12 months of use. I use a PC but my wife has a Mac and we use the Epson with both without problem. You can even plug both in simultaneously without problem. Having complained about the cost of the print cartridges I have to admit that they do seem to last a long time. My only other complaint would be the time it takes for the print heads to go through their 'Head cleaning' routine every time the printer is switched on. It seems to last an eternity but its just a small niggle.
