Epson Stylus Photo 830

I bought this printer in January 2003 because I'd recently purchased a new PC with Windows XP. My previous Epson printer had lost some of its functionality with this new operating system and I wanted a brand new printer anyway which had photo-quality capability. I was very impressed with the photo-quality of prints, considering the printer only cost £99. I was not impressed, however, with the CONSTANT need to clean the print heads almost every time I needed to use it. As an avid digital photographer, with an expensive taste in megapixels, I was in desperate need of a new printer. I needed a printer which would really produce stunning A4 sized photographs, suitable for framing, displaying, gifts and even sales. I liked this printer when I bought it. Cheap, excellent photo quality output. A bit noisey but I don't print very much so I wasn't too bothered. Watch out for printer head problems though. I may be just unlucky but after 3 months of light use, mine started to go wrong. I tried head cleaning 6 times, it improved a little but was still too awful to use. (The test page came out stripy and it would even smear black into the other colours). I rang Epson, they said change the cartridges. Epson Stylus Photo 830 with Harry Potter CD. Supported OS': Windows95/ME/NT/2000/XP; Mac OS8.1 through to OSX. For a printer in the £80-£90 price range, the Epson Stylus Photo 830 has impressive and immediate visual impact.
