What do you want when you are buying a photo printer? What I wanted was one that would reproduce the image that I had on screen, accurately and with a minimum of fuss. The Stylus Photo 830U is a budget six-colour A4 photo printer with a maximum resolution of 5,760x720dpi and a top print speed of 14ppm in monochrome and 13.7ppm in colour - exactly the same as the Photo 830 before it. After having got fed up with my last budget printer and trashing it, I was looking for a reasonable mid-price printer to handle printing photos plus occasional use for letters, documents and colour prints of web pages.
