Advantages: excellent print quailty
Disadvantages: big, noisy and moves the desk a lot while in printing
the Epson Photo Ex, if ur in the market for a big A3 printer then this is it. Fromt he moment you open the box and pic up this substantial piece of it and it is. You know ur on to something good. Forget the specs they are a white lie here, some other printers have higher dpi's but this doesn't matter. The pics on normal office paper are very good and the picture is very good. And once on some more expensive if slightly more expensive paper the vibrant colours really show up and are very lively, even more so. One armed with real photo paper you will be for a real treat. "IT" is a photo very comparable with the source. Now the limiting factor to your own work is the quality of the file sizes you have to print from. The printer will do the files more then justice. Its only the size of the files that will limit the power of this printer. This printer has been superceeded but its still fast on a parallel connection and the new model is on usb, so for me its no problem. With in the box includes a nice driver which is very easy to use and has plenty of options for you to tinker with. It also comes with sample papers for you to use as well. One the downside to the printer quailty is not so much speed, its quick and with text its good but its the size of it. its quite large as well at about 70cm in length. so maybe not be suitable for ppl with limited space. Another down point is that with the motion of the print head it does move the desk about abit and its very noticeable. It has a 2 cartridge solotion. 1 with black and the other one with 5 colours in it for greater depth and variety when printing. It would have been better if it had 6 separate colour cartridges to use. If it had this then it would receive a full 5 star award, but as it is it gets 4 and is the best A3 printer on the market. and its not that expensive at £230
