Advantages: Printing quality
Disadvantages: Drinks ink, price
I purchased this printer as a last minute buy from Tescos, I needed to do some printing urgently so I just bought the cheapest one in there(was not cheap) and gave it a go.
When I got it home it took hours to set it all up, install cartridges, install pc programs and other bits and bobs. When it had been all installed I was pleased with the printing quality but not long after, after printing off some passport size pics one of the ink cartridges had run out, now the really silly thing with this printer is that if one cartridge runs out the whole printer will not function without that cartridge being replaced. This means if you needed to print something urgently you have to get in your car and drive to your nearest electrical shop and fork out for a new cartridge.
Shortly after replacing the cartridge one of the others ran out, so again it took another trip to the shops this time I had to fork out for all of the cartridges as they had run out again. This whole process I found very annoying and tiring and am not overstruck on this type of printer, it takes ages as well every time you start the printer for it to prepare itself for printing.
Overall I would not recommend this printer as it is a lot of hassle for a £40 printer that should perform a lot better.
Summary: Overall I would avoid this printer you can certainly get more for your money elsewhere

- 10/04/09 I got one free with my first PC and it broke down after a year and half or two... so that's why it was free I suppose!:) |
