HP 2000 C ... The HP 2000Cxi printer is a Professional Series color inkjet printer for business environments. It uses drop-on-demand thermal inkjet printing on plain paper. This model is identical to the HP 2000Cse except for the software; the Cxi has medium to large business-focus software.

This PC-compatible model prints at 600 dpi resolution at top print speeds of 4 pages per minute for color, 10 ppm for black text. Three print modes offer users a choice of print quality and speed to suit different printing needs. Econofast has the fastest speed with acceptable print quality, Normal offers the best combination of speed and quality, and Best produces the highest print quality at a lower speed. The Photo Resolution Enhancement II (PhotoREt) and ColorSMart II technologies choose the best color settings, dot size and resolution to yield photo-quality color prints. Four separate ink cartridges and printheads are easily replaced and save up to 30% of printing costs over comparable desktop color printers. The 2000Cxi prints on plain and special papers, transparencies, labels and envelopes. It holds up to 150 sheets of paper, and accepts an optional 250-sheet accessory tray. The 2000Cxi is compatible with Windows 3.1x, Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, and uses HP PCL 3 enhanced printer language. It provides 160 TrueType fonts for Windows, 110 LaserJet compatible faces, 35 PostScript compatible faces, 15 decorative display faces and nine built-in bitmap typefaces. This model upgrades to provide network printing with the optional HP JetDirect 300X print server.

The technical specifications of this HP Deskjet 2000 C have been dealt with in other reviews here, and I must admit on paper they are pretty impressive for a DeskJet printer back in 1999, to refresh your memory I can quickly sum them up here. - Big paper tray - Impressive colour printing speed - Four separate ink cartridges (28ml of ink ) with four separate inkheads : This means you can save money by only having to replace the colours that have really run out and not one single four colour cartridge like in the smaller models. - possibility of installing a large black ink cartridge (69 ml of ink) Unfortunately our example of this ... The HP 2000C is the best Ink Jet printer that I have used for a while. Not only is the printing of quite high quality it is also quite fast compared with other Ink Jet printers that I have used. This printer is also very nicely styled and would not look out of place anywhere, being the normal grey colour. Along with the printer I got a paper tray (which is moulded especially for the printer, so it doesn't look out of place), so you can stack the printer full of paper (like a laser printer) and leave it to print. Are you sitting comfortably? … A few months the company that I work for decided they needed a cheap colour network printer. Our needs were not great, just a few financial reports per month. So, Fair enough, I had a flick through our Action catalogue and, after much searching, we came to the decision that this, the HP2000C, was the best most cost effective way to get a colour printer. I’ve just read another opinion on this printer by Technical Tobes and he seems to have had the same types of problems that I’ve had, except his seemed a bit worse! Before I go on, I’ll tell you a little bit about the printer for those who want to know! Now this printer is meant to be robust and work to your needs. It is actually supposed to be a business printer and not a home printer, so it’s made to work, not to sit around for weeks waiting for one of the kid’s to finally do their homework.
