HP Designjet 455ca ... 455CA 24-inch color printer serves both PC and Macintosh systems, with software PostScript emulation for Macintosh graphics applications. It handles check plots, presentations, overlays, signs and line drawings for engineering, design and commercial business applications. The near photo-quality images output at 600 dpi addressable in black and 300 dpi resolution in up to 16.7 million colors. It comes with black, cyan, magenta and yellow print cartridges installed. Print speed meet rapid turnaround or deadline needs, as a 2- by 3-foot image prints in about 18 minutes. This printer accepts media from 8.3 to 24 inches wide, with a maximum print size of 24 inches wide by 50 feet long. It can print on plain paper, vellum, coated and glossy papers and films, plus clear and matte film. The media can be fed by individual sheet or by the roll with its standard roll feed and automatic cutter. The DesignJet's 4MB memory can be upgraded to 36MB with optional SIMMs. The optional HP JetDirect external print servers increase network compatibility choices to use the printer in network situations. Languages supported include HP-GL/2, HP-GL, HP RTL plus PostScript via software RIP. Custom HP-developed AutoCAD and Microsoft Windows drivers make good use of the printer's available features, and the HP ZoomSmart scaling technology allows large-format printing from any Windows application.
