HP Deskjet 1000
Advantages: Compact, fast and cheap to run
Disadvantages: Only prints ~ nothing fancy here!
I used to have a printer that was meant to do everything for me but when it really wasn't living up to its claims, I bought this. I've not looked back since.
I paid £15 for this wellknown hp branded printed when i saw it on special offer once. I quick search now reveals it isn't that much more at just £34.99 from Argos for example. Usually, this would mean that the inks are expensive to make up for the cheap printer but this isn't the case. I can usually replace both colour and black for around the £20 mark.
Setting up the printer was a doddle. It really is just a plug into the laptop and off it goes. An easy USB connection attaches it to the computer and a standard plug to power it.
This printer isn't at all fancy. It will print on an A4 sheet in black and it will print in colour. If your printing needs are anymore than that, then you really need to pass this one by. The printing quality though is exceptional. I have never have a problem with the ink drying up when I leave it lurking in the bottom of my wardrobe awaiting its next use.
I use my printer for printing coupons, Paypal invoice labels and normal writing and have found that it does all of these tasks exceptionally well. I am very impressed with my printer and will not be changing it. It is compact, quiet and fast. There is a flap at the front that you pull down and then tease out another piece of plastic. This creates a type of tray so that your printed work has somewhere to rest.
Summary: Perfect for people that only have simple printing needs.
