This printer came with my computer and I thought that it would be quite good cos' it was a Hewlett-Packard. They have a reputation of being good and so I chose it instead of an Epson. Both the quality and pages per minute lacked. I found that it had a very small dpi(dots per inch) and that it either printed very slow(a page every minute or so) when it was on the highest quality or otherwise it printed very fast with crap quality. I was very disappointed when I found the Epson to be much better. It had a better dpi and it could print more pages at this dpi then the Hewlett-Packard. From my experience I would not suggest any one to buy a lower range Hewlett-Packard. ... Read the complete review

Until this summer, I worked for the sort of multi-million pound company which would employ Shakespeare, give him a bottle of ink and refuse to fork out for a quill. You had to be there for ten years before you got your own Tippex. I could probably name the said business, in fact, because no-one there will be reading this – the company was so tight it wouldn’t even let anyone have the internet. Anyway, my role as Marketing Assistant was to design the company’s product literature – and then print out ALL the copies on an HP610C printer. Therefore, the sales reps had the embarrassment of handing out flimsy bits of A4 paper sodden with inkjet ink ... Read the complete review

I purchased this printer purely on price. I was looking for a cheap inkjet capable of good quality text and graphics printing. The Deskjet 610c is a two-cartridge system, one tri-colour and one pure black. Access to the cartridges is easy, just lift the lid and the cradle automatically parks for cartridge replacement, shut the lid and it resets for use. On first use, the cartridges need to be aligned. Easy to do, but annoying if you change cartridges regular. Print quality of text is excellent. Crisp and clear black print, without fault. For printing letters etc, this printer is great. However graphics quality is not as good, offering about average quality ... Read the complete review

This is a very good first printer and it is relatively cheap to buy. The quality of printouts is very good, although the speed, at about 4 pages per minute in black and white leaves something to be desired. The cartridges are quite expensive, and at £25 a go, running costs are inevitably high. Colour printouts are normally of a high quality, but it is very slow when doing these, and this causes other programs to slow down as well. I would recommend this to anyone as a first printer because it is easy to use, easy to set up and prints to a high quality. However, if speed is what you want then you may be disappointed. ... I’ve had this printer for about 18 months now and to be honest I wish I hadn’t bothered with it. I bought it at the time because I was on a tight budget and the Epson I had, had gone wrong just outside the guarantee period and required a new colour printhead that cost more than replacing the printer. This printer was the only one at the time I could afford that would do what I required (not wanting to risk another Epson, and the Canon would not take the thickness of card I was using). The print quality is average to say the least, with the printout of colour photos poor (unless an expensive photo cartridge is bought). It is slow, noisy and makes ... Read the complete review
