Advantages: Excellent print quality, Easy to use, Duplex system
Disadvantages: None for me.
When I moved employment in 2003 I managed to get another job in an office environment, where I am happy at my work. One reason for this is that I have a great printer linked to my computer. This is the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer.
The printer itself uses both black and colour ink (as the name of the printer implies anyway). This, I find, is ideal for the type of printing I do. This includes letters and various spreadsheets and all kind of reports. One of the reasons why I like this printer is that it has separate ink tanks for black and coloured inks. These tanks are very easy to install and de-install, in my mind.
The HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer measures approximately 18 wide, 7.5 high, and 17.5 deep. These measurements are without the out-feed paper tray being extended. This out tray extends about 3.5 further out. The printer is made of very sturdy plastic in a 2-tone colour of dark grey on the front and back, with a silvery grey colour at the top and sides.
The connection to my computer is by a standard Ethernet network printer cable. My IT manager told me that the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer was very easy to set up using the CD and following the on-screen instructions.
Loading the paper is, again in my opinion a very simple operation. To place up to 150 A4 sheets of 80 gram white paper all I have to do is lift the out-feed paper tray cover up and slot the paper into the in-tray. As you look at the printer from the front there is a moveable paper guide at the left-hand side of this tray, which keeps the paper in a neat and tidy manner. The front of the in-tray actually opens down to enable longer paper to be put in, if necessary.
One good feature I like about the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer is that the copies are ejected on the tray that is on top of the in-tray at the front of the printer. As mentioned earlier, the out-tray has an extendable part that actually keeps the copies from being ejected and flung all over the desk. The on-off and test buttons are very easily accessible on the front of the printer. I think this is a great feature, as I dont have to go fiddling about trying to switch it on or off, as with some printers. If you have restricted room for your office printer then this could help you decide which one to get.
The print quality, I find, is very good indeed. The HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer produces differing quality depending on the selection of print. I have printed many documents, from official company letters to Excel spreadsheets and management reports. The colour side of the printing makes this an excellent printer, in my mind. The ink tanks seem to last a long time for the amount of printing I do, therefore keeping the cost of printing down.
The speed of printing black copies is, in my opinion very good for an office printer. The number can be up to about 7 copies per minute (at normal quality) depending on the amount of characters on the document. When I print coloured documents the printing does slow down, but not that much. The dpi for the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer is 600 x 600 for black ink printing at normal quality. Envelopes can also be printed on this printer. Unfortunately, I have not used this facility, so I cannot comment on this.
One particular feature of this printer I like is the duplex system. As I do a lot of double-sided reports I find the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer copies very well, with no smudging on either side.
The technical features of the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer include:
Memory of 16MB., print language-HP High Performance Architecture PCL3, print technology-HP Thermal Inkjet which is 4800 x 1200 dpi four colour, USB and Ethernet inputs. Drivers for Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP. Also for Macintosh.
I can certainly recommend the HP Deskjet 6127 Colour Inkjet Printer for any potential buyers.
