The Deskjet 6500 series is a fantastic printer. It connects with ease to both PC and Mac (the latter already had the drivers installed), and is easy to install and set up straight from the box in just a few minutes. It's quick to print both in black and white and colour and produces great quality prints every time (though I wouldn't personally use it for photos on glossy paper). Cartridges are pretty standard HP ones, so won't cost an arm and a leg either.
