Please scroll down to see thie review with capital letters intact. I?ve had my Deskjet 840C for two years now. I purchased it when Windows XP drivers for my Lexmark printer behaved in a strange way and needed reinstalling often. The deskjet is from the Hewlett Packard printer stable and as such comes with a reputation for quality. I paid £129.99 for mine at PC World in Plymouth. I doubt these are available from new now so you would expect to pay between £30 and £40 for a decent quality second hand model. Let?s take a tour of the features of this printer and see how it copes ... Read the complete review

If you are looking for a great printer, keep reading. If you are looking for a cheap printer keep reading. Get the idea? Yes, that's right, the HP 840C inkjet is a pretty good printer that should keep most users happy. It's not the best on the market, but for the price I doubt it could be beaten on quality and reliability. So why is it so good. Well firstly it from the well established Hewlett Packard, who seem to have become the most popular company for printers. I've never owned anything else, and when I use quality products like this one, I know why. First off they feel robust. The plastic casing is solid, as well as looking pretty good, which ... About eight weeks ago I purchased a new Epson 580 printer. Okay, before you all scroll straight to the bottom and give this a 'not useful' for being in the wrong category, just bear with me, please! I had no problem with the Epson printer until I attempted to change the ink cartridges. It refused to let me use the 'change cartridge' facility. I then discovered that this printer will not work properly with some versions of Windows '98. The exact details weren't specified in the printer help files. After 6 hours of trying to change cartridges which had cost me the best part of £50, I gave up and bought myself a Hewlett Packard ... Read the complete review

Well, my little ol' computer is now 6 months old and boy has it been used.....It came complete with a scanner, speakers, several programmes and a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 840c printer which is what I intend to write about today. At £84.25 or approximately $149.00 this has been a fantastic buy. The printer is compact, neat and extremely quiet when running(making more of a gentle hum than the roaring sound usually associated with a lot of printers). It certainly compares well with the larger and more expensive printer I use in work which is noisy and unpredictable (also a Hewlett Packard but a more expensive and older version). It comes complete with both ... Read the complete review

The HP Deskjet 840c printer has been around for a while but has recently dropped in price due to newer models being produced. You can now find the printer selling on the high street for under £100 and could possibly find it on sale in some stores. I know someone who recently got one for around £60-70. If you are familiar with the HP deskjet series of printers you will know that the popular 500 and 600 series were commonly used for home printers but the 840c which is a step above those printers could be a better printer for you to think about purchasing. The printer has a resolution of 600x1200dpi which gives a very good, sharp photo quality print. But if you ... Read the complete review
