Advantages: Fast, high quality printing

Disadvantages: ink does seem to take a while to dry on some papers

No, let's be more exact, ideal in almost every situation!

I originally purchased an Epson 660 but had so many problems with the print heads I decided to cut my losses and replace after a month with the HP 895CXi.

Never looked back. Print quality is good, speed is good - the figures supplied by Hewlett Packard do actually seem to reflect more accurately the actual speeds of printer (something that I wish Espon could have done regarding the 660 which turned out to be only about a quarter of their stated speed).

Colour reproduction is almost perfect. I've reproduced an enlarged version of a picture and people have had difficulty telling which one was the actual picture and which one was the copy.

Ink consumption is great. It may cost more for cartridges but if you shop around using the internet then you can purchase the cartridges at half the price and still get HP original cartridges and the number of sheets of print per cartridge is brilliant. I am a heavy user and have had to change my colour cartridge just once and only had to replace the Black cartridge just once also. Not bad considering that the printer regularly does print runs of 250-500 pages.

The printer, compared to other makes, like all Hewlett packard printers is quiet, you can comfortably hold a telephone conversation while the printer is running which previously I never could.

On the negative side I don't like the USB connection for the printer - it just doesn't allow the printer to return any error message to the PC drivers to allow a print to half if there is a problem.

All in all, the extra cost for this printer is outweighed by the advantages of buying it.
