Advantages: Quick, Quiet, Clear
Disadvantages: Expensive Inkcarts
I used to have a HP 660c but as it couldn’t hack colour pictures anymore I decided to buy a new printer. After looking around I bought a HP 930C It cost £90 and came with a installation CD, 1 black and colour cartridges (both large) and 5 sheets of photo glossy paper. The installation was a breeze, just insert the CD run through the step by step instructions, connect the printer and install print cartridges. I was even able to set-up the printer so my networked PC could use it as well and that didn’t require the CD to do. To most people the mumbo jumbo of the dpi and bit depth means nothing so I won’t comment on it. Basically when you print on the (expensive) photo paper it is close to looking like a real photograph (don’t spill water on it though that removes the ink) On normal paper it still looks good. It copes with text with no problem. It will churn out each page quickly and quietly. On draft mode the Picture quality is good just a little lighter than on best mode. It comes with an array of tools. You can alter the amount of ink used, the drying time of the ink, optimise it for photocopy or fax and more The printer tells you what is wrong with it by an arrow on the moving head pointing to various pictures which correspond to a problem. The only Problemis the cost of Ink cartridges around £30 for the large and £20 for the small version of each kind Well worth it, Quality printer at a Great Price

- 16/09/01 It is indeed a good printer. Just one thing, you say that both the catridges are large in the box. The colour catridges only come in one size and the Black cartridge in the box is actually the small version, the large one is about 47ml. I know this cus I have been installing them all last week at work! |
