Advantages: print quality

Disadvantages: price of ink

This is a very stylish piece of hardware, and you will not want to hide it away under the computer desk. with this printer you will also be getting a good reliable brand name, which you can trust. if things do somehow go wrong you know you won't be left in the dark.

The printer costs around £150 or $200US and is definately worth the money. firstly because the print quality is brilliant, probably the best you can get from an inkjet printer. you can achieve a maximum resolution of 1200x2400 dpi. This is more than enough even if you want to print on photo paper.
On the front there are two seperate slots, one for envelopes and the other for photos. As well as the usuall compartment for your A4 papers.

The cartridges are not too expensive around £22 for colour and £18 for
B + W. They are also very easy to replace and usually last a long time, and will not require replacing every 2 months.
on the negative side, you will not find a cable to allow you to connect it to your PC or Mac. This will be around £15-£20. If your PC has a USB Port then this is a must, but you can also use a parallel cable. If you want to save some money then go for the parallel, but if you want ease of use then the USB is an essential piece of equipment.
I decided to go for the Parallel option, purely because my PC doesn't support USB. By using this cable it tends to usually take it's time in my requests to print.

I have had this printer for around 7 months, and had no other problems so far.
The printer is capible of telling you when a cartrage has finished or when you should clean the head. On the front of the 950C there are three large grey buttons, one for power, paper out and the last is for cancel print.

The print speed could be a tiny bit faster, but HP probably would have had to compromise on the quality. It'll have to do.
Overall--
Reasonably cheap, reliable, fast and quiet, well worth it! Get it as a g
ift for a loved one or simply buy it as a treat for yourself.
FIVE OUT OF FIVE
GO GET IT.

Yup, and on the printer parallel cable point - it shouldnt be a lot slower than the USB cable, one thing worth checking is that the cable is bi-directional and up to the latest standard, as my cable wasnt and it made my Lexmark print s-l-o-w-l-y.

Someone who includes the cartridge price in a printer op - thank god for small mercies :) Good op, I think you covered it all, Steve
