I’ve read and heard good things about HP’s Deskjet series so I narrowed my choices the Deskjet 882, 895, and 970. I decided to go with the 970Cxi and here’s why. I’ve read good reviews on the 882 and it was fairly inexpensive, but I wanted a little speedier printer and a few more features so I eliminated that from the list. I seriously considered the 895, and it had recently come down in price to around £300. However, I had read some bad reviews on the 895 and the price reduction from HP gave me the feeling that there actually were problems with this printer. So it was down to the 970…is it worth the little extra I paid for it over ... Read the complete review

Ah ha, finally a product on which I can vent my spleen! This could get ugly! The name Hewlett Packard has virtually become synonymous with printers. Just as Sony is known for their quality electronics, Hewlett Packard are known for their (occasional) quality printers. In terms of features, as you will see mentioned below, this printer is not lacking. However, the quality of its output is just not good enough to justify it's cost or to rival those of Epson's and yet still too expensive to be a high-end home printer. First, I'd like to discuss the specifications and features of this printer and tell you why I feel that though it is a good printer, it is ... Read the complete review

This printer is in HP's Professional Series of stylish desktop colour inkjet printers I'm just changing this review to add that it is still going as strong today as it ever did. It must have printed many thousands of pages for me over the years, and although I don't believe you can buy it new anymore, it should still be considered if it comes up on the second hand market. Of course, check it's in good working order, and there's nothing broken - but if it works, it works well! It sports a duplex unit as standard, for double sided printing. The only advantage in not fitting the unit is an overall reduction in the printer's ... Read the complete review

Having bought this printer about 2 months ago when it was first released, I have to admit this is one quality piece of kit. Everything about this printer oozes class, and the range of features and functions justifies every penny spent on what is a top not peripheral! The printer is capable of printing at exceptionally high resolutions, and the quality produced is fantastic. Printing photographs on the cheapest of paper produces exceptional results, and if you sue the correct photographic paper and associated ink cartridge, the results are as good as anything you will find on a home PC. Printing in generic colour is also superb, with crisp clean printing, and black ... Read the complete review
