Advantages: Quality of Photo Prints, Speed, Sound
Disadvantages: No Cable
Ok - We all get free printers when we purchase PC packages, and they do the job and even print fantastic photo's....... or do they????? I have had a free lexmark Z12 for a year perfectly suiting my needs and i thought the images it produced were first class. This was until i purchased a IXUS V digi camera and was dissapointed with the prints - blaming the £400 camera!!!!! A local company gave me some example prints from two printers, one being the HP DJ980 CXi. I compared the prints to my own and was astonished at the difference in quality!!! I purchased this Printer a week ago and as with all new technology have put it through it's paces. To make it easier to understand it's features i will list them: 1. 1200 X 2400 print resolution - fantastic for photos and i mean fantastic. Your talking lab quality A4 pics. 2. 15 pages per min in black and 12 per min in colour - is that fast enough. 3. Auto paper-type sensor - we've all been there. Just after printing a photo, where the setting is to print at its best/max resolution, you then go to print a letter. No more wasted ink as the printer senses its normal paper and self adjusts the ink set-up, very clever indeed. 4. Auto 2 sided printing - This unit comes with a free duplex unit that allows you to print on both sides of the paper without touching it, perfect for flyers etc...., very, veryt clever indeed. 5. USB and Parallel connection - you choose. There are more but to be honest they are too technical and i don't simply want to copy what the manuel say's - hence all these features make it a fantastic buy. Do shop around for the best price. I paid £120 for this, but i have seen it priced around £210 !!!! Oh did i tell you that when printing it is as quiet as a laser printer. This feature may not sound much but let me tell you it really helps those tension headaches. Oh it also comes with a free colour and black cartridge AND f
ree paper, but alas no cable ( But you can normally get one of those FOC if you ask the right questions!!) I spent £20 over budget for this but it is well worth getting the right printer.

- 25/10/01 Thank you so much for writing this. I saw this printer for £99 in Tesco - yes can you believe it?! Thought it was too good to be true but haven't been able to find anything as good for the same price. noew I know it is a great deal. I'll ask no questions and go and grab it while it's still there! Sorry to undercut your bargain - if it is indeed the same model. I'll see if I get the free ink too?! |
