DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER IF RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA Good points : it's cheap, good quality printouts Bad points : On Windows Vista it is unreliable and unhelpful when it fails. The installation to download from HP is 35Mb for the basic drivers. Using them the printer stopped working on a regular basis, with no error messages saying why. The advanced drivers are 78Mb. The installation reboots your computer without asking and takes ages. These try and tell you what's wrong, and fail miserably. To be honest, I really wasn't expecting much from this printer. I believe that you get what you pay for these days, and what can you expect to get with a price tag just over twenty pounds. I do most of my professional printing at home with my monstrous Epson R2400 (an A3 printer that costs more than a mid-range laptop, and makes me cry every time I have to buy more ink for it.) The new HP D1460 is one the best printers of its kind. I have been using it for a period of time without any problems or any kind of hassles. The installations is quite easy with the HP Solution Center to handle any kind of printing jobs quite easily. One of the best features of this printer is very quick printing of documents and images, no matter whether its Full-Page Printing or not. Good Quality Support from the HP Customer Care. Few problems with the software - slow responding.Sometimes you have to restart computer to troubleshoot.Though cartridges are expensive If you have a refill kit price of the cartridges is not a major problem.
