DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER IF RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA

Good points : it's cheap, good quality printouts
Bad points : On Windows Vista it is unreliable and unhelpful when it fails.

The installation to download from HP is 35Mb for the basic drivers. Using them the printer stopped working on a regular basis, with no error messages saying why.
The advanced drivers are 78Mb. The installation reboots your computer without asking and takes ages.
These try and tell you what's wrong, and fail miserably. When I disconnect the printer it guesses there is an error with a cartridge and shows this message, repeatedly, every 5 seconds, and you can't get rid of it.
When you cancel documents, it doesn't always cancel them.
There is no reliable way of turning off the printer, apart from pulling the plug.

It's worth spending the extra few tenners to get a more reliable and usable printer!
