HP Photosmart 1000

Over the past few years, Hewlett Packard have survived on mainly one aspect of their business; Printers. Hewlett Packard do actually make PCs and Scanners as well but they are generally overpriced and underspecified. So, how do they manage to flog printers then? Well the printers have one good thing going for them and that's reliability. Here's a brief list of my experience of printers over the last few years and I think it speaks volumes. When I purchased my Mesh computer back in June 2001, I also purchased as part of my bundle, a Hewlett Packard Photosmart 1000printer. This has proved itself to be one of the few things I have not lived to regret buying from Mesh. It cost me £194 including delivery in the bundle. The printer is black and grey in colour, measures about 15 inches by 16 inches square and about 8 inches high. It?s quite light for its size and fits nicely on top of a plastic filing box I have on my desk. It comes complete with a cable, a user guide booklet that has 64 pages of information. The HP PhotoSmart 1000 is a great printer to consider for purchase if you plan to use it in conjunction with a flatbed scanner or digital camera. It has a sexy black chassis that matches my laptop, and it has slots for digital camera flashcards built onto the side. The slots will accomodate 90% of the digital camera flashcards that are currently on the market, and it makes printing directly from the flashcard to the printer simple.
