Advantages: Small & light, Ease of use, Great quality
Disadvantages: Limited to 6 x 4 photos, Cartridges around £30, Only holds 20 sheets of paper
What can I say about this product. well quite a lot really, but for those of you who are wondering if you should purchase a printer that does at first seem a little limited to printing 6x4 photos.
This little printer is a great printer, the results are outstanding, its ease of use is simple.
I purchased an HP130 a couple of weeks ago, got home to try it out. HP very kindly put a fold out poster in the box so you dont have to wade through pages of text before finding out how to set it up.
After unpacking the contents of the box, I followed the installation and set up procedures.
Installed the cartridge..just pulling down a small panel on the right hand side, push home the cartridge..close the panel..job complete!
Next you open the front to load paper for running a test page..they even supply the paper.
Once you are happy that all seems ok you are ready to start printing you pics.
The HP 130 accepts all the normal media cards from digital cameras.
Insert you media card, this will tell you information you need to know, ie No. of photos on the card, using a cursor button, you select the size picture you want, choices are full
size 6" x 4" , 2 pictures on 1 piece of 6 x 4 or so you can determine what pictures you want to print, a small image size, which will print 28 photos on 1 piece of 6 x 4 paper, these will be numbered 1 - 28.
The next setting is the printing range, either 1 single or multiple prints ie 1-4 for example.
Once done you move the cursor to the last setting, how many copies of the photo, it will default to 1 copy. Assuming the photo paper is in place, you press the print button and way you go. The print speed is good too..around 1.5-2 minutes for a normal indoor picture (lots of darks) quicker for outside shots (lots of lights).
For anyone who has a digital camera, but is not into PC's this is surely the printer for you.
Things have come a long wa
y since the poleroid!
Reading other reviews on this printer made me buy it, so hopefully this article may help you decide..it can't replace your everyday printer because of size limitations, but it sure can print great photos for your album.
